TCMDC, KASC to square off in final of MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament

Imphal, March 03 2024:
TCMDC (Thongju) and KASC (Khomidok) triumphed in their respective semifinal matches to set up summit clash of the 2nd MNCA Mens U-19 Tournament.
TCMDC outdid RCA (Lilong) by 2 wickets in their semifinal encounter at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal on Sunday.
Opting to field, TCMDC dismissed RCA for 138 in 34.2 overs as Aziz Mirza top-scored with 43, followed by Zamir Khan (32) and Imran Khan, in their innings plagued by 4 ducks.
TCMDC's bowling spell saw Rain Urikhimbam, Ringku Kangujam and Thomsan finish with 3 wickets apiece.
The Thongju squad then completed the chase in 34.1 overs, scoring 142 for the loss of 8 wickets.
Takhellambam Nganba Meitei (35 not out) and Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (36), along with Nepram Richer Singh (11 not out), guided TCMDC to the final.
For RCA, Aziz Mirza and Nawaz Sarif clamed 2 wickets each while Iliyas and Naesh Hussain took one each.
KASC booked their place in the final with a 1-wicket win over AKSDO (Khangabok) at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
KASC bundled out their opponents for 77 in 33.3 overs after electing to field.
Md Riyajuddin and Fm Sharif equally shared six wickets between them while Bm Afsar did his bit with 2 scalps and Md Aqeel bagged one to lay the foundation for their team's victory.
Only Laishram Samson Meetei (18) scored in double figures for AKSDO in a dismal batting performance.
KASC struggled against AKSDO's bowling, but they managed to reach the target in 30 overs with one wicket remaining.
Fm Sharif (18), Bm Irfan (11) and Muhammad Ali Karim (10) helped their team secure a crucial victory.
The winning side lost 4 wickets to Saikhom Kaiku Meetei, 2 each to Rosan Laishram and Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei, and one to Akash Laishram.
