Clinic assures free treatment to IDPs

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) staying in relief camps will be provided free treatment, assured Sure Sight Eye Care Medical Clinic proprietor Md Abbas Hussain while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inaugural function of the clinic located at Thoubal DC office campus.
The event was attended by Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOGS) president Th Manihar as chief guest and vice president BM Shah as guest of honour.
Abbas Hussain declared that in solidarity with the suffering of families displaced due to the conflict the clinic will exempt treatment fees and also provide 50 percent offer on purchase of prescribed spectacles by the IDPs.
He also informed that in collaboration with FOCS, an awareness and counselling programme with the aim to address the mental health needs of the IDPs will be organised at different relief camps across the state.
The newly inaugurated clinic has orthopaedics, medicine, psychiatry, hearing aids; dermatology and eye care departments equipped with the latest 'power therapy' facility, he mentioned.
FOCS president Th Manihar commended the team behind the clinic for the initiative and said that although the doctors and medical practitioners of Manipur are skilled absence of requisite infrastructure obstructs diligence delivery of service.
He also appealed to the medical practitioners to frequent consult among themselves and work together as a unit to deliver optimum and efficient service to the people.
