1st Premier League : ASUFFI FA romp past DMRAO 4-0, SSU thump Classic FA 2-0

ASUFFI Football Academy (AFA)-Mao romped to a 4-0 win over DMRAO-Sekmai to stretch their winning run to three games in the 1st Premier League being organised by the All Manipur Football Association at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Mathanmi Ningshen starred in the match by scoring a brace in the second half after AFA took a slender 1-0 first half lead against the Sekmai outfit today courtesy of Waikhom Arunkumar 's 15th minute strike.
Bijoy Moktan, who subbed in for Eloziio Kayina in the 42nd minute doubled the advantage just one minute into the second half before Mathanmi further extended the lead with a clinical finish in the 49th minute.
DMRAO failed to answer despite conceding three goals and their conditions got further worsened with Mathanmi converting his second goal in the 71st minute to make it 4-0 for the Mao team.
In another match of the tournament staged later in the day, Southern Sporting Union (SSU), who slumped to a narrow loss in the previous match after two straight victories, bounced back to their winning ways and ended Classic FA's two game winning run with a 2-0 beating.
The two sides started cautiously and entered into the break goalless despite having scoring chances but SSU went ahead at the stroke of the hour mark as Laishram Roshan neatly converted a chance.
Classic FA fought hard to return into the game but Naorem Kishan who came off the bench in the 64th minute made his presence felt by scoring the second goal for SSU in the 72nd minute.
SSU then held on to their lead to grab their third win in four matches.
