Manipur thrash Mizoram to face Meghalaya in Plate group final

Manipur pummelled Mizoram by an innings and 114 runs in their Vijay Merchant Trophy plate group semifinal match at JSCA Oval Ground, Ranchi, Jharkhand on Friday.
With the result, Manipur got promoted to the Elite group for the next season.
The state U-16 boys will now square off against Meghalaya in their plate group final.
Manipur elected to field and bowled out Mizoram for 146.Zira (67), Mapuia (26), Hmingthana (14) and Mala (11) were key run-getters in Mizoram's first innings.
Rain was the pick of Manipur's bowlers with an impressive haul of 4 wickets as Danish and Naesh claimed 2 scalps apiece, with Bisal Ningombam and Sougaijam taking one each in the state squad's brilliant bowling display.
In their first essay, Manipur took a huge lead of 234 after they were all out for 380.Danish took centre stage in the state boys' innings, where he struck a sublime 107 while Rain impressed with 58, Donba did his part with 55, T Nganba hit 54, Binson scored 34, Bisai Ningombam contributed 26 and Kaiku was unbeaten on 7.For Mizoram, both Ran-sanga and Nunga scalped 3 wickets as Dinpuia took 2, and Hmingthana and Zodina bagged one each.
Trailing by a massive run margin, Mizoram wilted under pressure as they could only add 120 runs in their second innings after they were bundled out in 51.4 overs.
Danish stole the show in Manipur's brilliant bowling attack as he rattled the Mizoran batting lineup with 4 wickets.
Donba chipped in with 2 scalps while Rain, Naesh and Kaiku got one wicket apiece in the state boys' emphatic win.
In Mizoram's second innings, only Mapuia (48), Zodina (22) and Zira (16) managed to reach double figures.
