Team Reverate of MTU wins Smart India Hackathon

Team Reverate from Manipur Technical University emerged as the joint winner in the nationwide competition Smart India Hackathon 2023 organised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Education for their invention of hydraulic pump that operates without electricity or fuel, relying solely on hydraulic pressure.
The challenge presented to Team Reverate focused on finding cost-effective ways to make water sources for piped drinking water supply sustainable in rural areas.
The problem statement, sponsored by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, identified the need for innovative solutions to enhance water accessibility in remote regions.
Under the mentorship Manipur Technical University (MTU) Department of Civil Engineering assistant professor Nongmaithem Anand, the members of Team Reverate included students of 3rd Year, Department of Civil Engineering Wahengbam Manimatum Meitei (team leader), Korounganba Laishram, Thotdharin Jajo, Longjam Venus Singh, Moirangthem Nepalion and Kharibam Manithoi Devi.
Out of 44,642 registered teams, Team Reverate was among the 1,282 teams that made it to the grand finale held at the Nodal Centre, Lovely Professional University, Punjab.
