Imphal, December 29 2023:
While pointing out that development activities including construction of roads and bridges under PMGSY is in full swing, All Manipur Contractors' Association Forum has urged the government to look into the inconveniences faced by the contractors.
In a release, the Forum stated that both Covid-19 pandemic and conflict that broke out since May 3 hit-hard the contractors.
Several machineries remained scattered in different hill areas, with many burnt and even drivers and workers killed in the latest violence, it lamented.
Drawing the attention of the government and chief minister, the Forum pointed out that contractors failed to complete their works on time as it take lots of time in releasing the bills.
It demanded to expedite the file process for contractors fairly and on time and further urged to appoint a competent chief engineer (RED/MSRRDA) from the additional chief engineers as the present chief engineer is on the verge of retiring from service.
