Imphal, November 10 2023:
Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Kh Joykisan christened a baby girl with the name "Malemnganbi" during her Ipan Thaba ceremony at Tombisana High School Relief Camp, Khoyathong today.
The baby was born to Thongam (Ongbi) Chanungambi and Thongam Suresh Meitei from Napat Thongkhong under Bishnupur district and currently staying at the relief camp set up by Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) under the supervision of MLA Kh Joykisan.
Malemnganbi is the couple's second daughter.
Upon being requested by TAKDO volunteers and the conflict survivors at the relief camp to give the baby girl a name, Kh Joykisan chose the name 'Malemnganbi' with the hope that her birth will bring 'light' to a darkened Manipur.
Urging people to remain alert in light of the tumultuous situation in the State, Kh Joykisan asserted that narco terrorism is at the root of the conflict and called for public unity to uproot this evil.
Moreover, the Thangmeiband AC MLA also pointed out the devastating impact of this crisis on the livelihood of daily wage earners and stressed on the necessity to address their grievances.
Only when the survivors sheltering at relief camps can be safely shifted back to their original homes, then it can be declared that normalcy has been restored in the State, maintained Kh Joykisan.
