AMUCO calls for pursuing common agenda

All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) in association with United Clubs' Organisation of Bishnupur District (UCOBID) organised a public awareness campaign as part of its 'Way Forward' campaign at Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, AMUCO secretary publicity L Krishnachan-dra recalled the 8-point memorandum they submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi pressing for controlling the violence, housing assistance, rehabilitation and resettlement package, steps to bring lasting peace, upholding the territory and identity of Manipur, amendment of Article 3 of the Constitution to incorporate new clause to ensure no further division of the state's territory, formation of district re-organisation committee to do away with district boundary based on ethnic lines, formation of special administration zone, strengthening the 1932 resolution of Manipur State Durbar to protect reserved and protected forests, and crackdown against illegal poppy cultivation and narcotics trading.
He also called for a united approach under a common agenda for a lasting solution to the issues challenging the state.
UCOBID president W Basanta, Phougakchao Makha Leikai Meira Paibi Apunba Lup president Keithellakpam Kegesana, Kangvai and Surround ing Village United Clubs' Organisation (KASVUCO) president Khomdram Ratan, National Research Centre (NRC) president Th Ajit, and AMUCO vice-president S Sanjoy attended the programme as presidium members.
