Pensioners who retired from their service before 2006 will also enjoy the revised pay bands under of sixth pay commission, said director of state treasury and account, T Kirankumar today.
Briefing reporters in his office chamber at Lamphel treasury office, the director said that the state has 35,1626 pensioners.
Out of this 29,808 were government servant retired before 2006.They retired before January 1 of the year.
But they will also get the benefit of sixth pay revision.
There are 13 treasury and sub-treasury offices across the state.
For the pensioners of valley areas, the disbursement of the pension under the revised sixth pay bands will be started from August 5 next while that of hill areas it will be allowed from August 11, the director said.
The disbursement of pensioners under computerized system can easily withdraw the amount.
The computerized system for the pensioners was introduced so as to avoid pensioners to stand in long queue while withdrawing their pensions.
The treasury department introduced it considering the woes facing by the aged old pensioners, he added.
However, for the pensioners under Jiribam will delay for sometime as some defects in the computerization developed, he added.
