Cabinet recommends assembly session on Aug 21

Imphal, August 04 2023: The state cabinet has recommended to the Governor for summoning the 4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 21, a release issued by Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) informed.

It may be mentioned that political parties, civil society organisations and other sections have been demanding the state government to convene special assembly session to deliberate on the ongoing conflict where numerous people were killed, injured and thousands displaced from their homes.

However, the scheduled assembly session from August 21 is not a special session but a normal session which is to be convened every six months.
