One-day free eye screening camp organised

Thoubal, August 04 2023: A one-day free eye screening camp was organised today by the Scarlet Eye Care and Contact Lens, Thoubal Athokpam for the displaced people who are taking refuge at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex.

The free eye screening camp was organised under the aegis of the District Administration Thoubal with an aim to address the various eye related issues of displaced people who are taking refuge at the relief camp.

Free spectacles were distributed to around 200 inmates along with free medicines today.

Speaking in connection with the free eye screening camp, Co-convenor of the relief camp, L Devan expressed gratitude to the Scarlet Eye Care team led by Eye Specialist Dr Lisam Surbala for examining the eye-related problems of around 200 inmates and for providing free spectacles and medicines.

He further informed that a total of 657 displaced people mainly from Moreh are taking refuge at this relief camp which is managed by SOCDEC Wangjing.

It is worth noting that many have been extending humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
