Imphal, August 12 2023:
While denouncing the alleged gang rape of a Meetei woman by Kuki militants in Churachandpur on May 3, Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has condemned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister N Biren over the matter.
In a release, FESOK said that under the supervision of PM and CM, those involved in 'parading incident' of two Kuki women were arrested immediately, higher ups of the government went to meet the victims and Manipur governor compensated a sum of Rs 10 lakh each to the two victims.
However, the silence of PM and CM despite having evidence of the crime proved their one sidedness, the release contended, while enquiring why the government has failed to arrest anyone involved in the crime so far.
While demanding to arrest and punish all the culprits involved in the crime, FESOK further demanded the state and central government to end the communal conflict which is going on for more than 100 days now.
