Imphal, August 12 2023:
The Meitei Pangal community of Manipur, during a meeting held on Saturday, has adopted a resolution that any decision by the central government affecting the state's integrity will not be accepted and the same will be taken up to the international forums.
The meeting was organised by All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-Ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) under the theme of 'Present Ethnic and Political turmoil in Manipur' at Khomidok Bazar community hall, Imphal East.
During the meeting, which was attended by academicians, social activists and other professionals from the Meitei Pangal community, it was unanimously resolved that the central government cannot take any decision which would affect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The Meitei Pangals' decision will be proclaimed at the international level.
The meeting also urged all members of the community not to do anything that would hurt the sentiments of the Meitei community in the valley.
Anyone found doing so would be solely responsible for his/her actions.
Regarding the meeting, AMMOCOC president S Jalal questioned why the conflict could not be solved even after three months, while further wondering if the conflict is being intentionally prolonged.
The meeting also discussed any other possible hidden agendas of the central government; he said and conveyed that the community will act accordingly to the resolutions adopted.
