AMUCO encourages gang-rape victim for revealing the crime

While condemning the alleged gang-rape of a Meetei woman in Churachandpur by some Kukis on May 3, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation encouraged the victim for confiding it to the public though quite late.
In a release, AMUCO secretary publicity L Krishnachandra said that Meetei women consider their dignity more valuable than their lives.
So, she might have hid the unfortunate incident in fear of social stigma.
However, she has revealed it to the public finally for the sake of the community considering the humiliation faced by Meeteis in front of the world on account of the video of parading two Kuki women in nude which went viral on social media.
Praising for her strength to reveal the about the rape incident, he said that no one should treat her badly and demanded that the culprits should be arrested and punished stringently.
Recalling that even MLAs/ministers directly or indirectly took part in protests and condemned the unfortunate naked parading incident, he said that similar stand should be taken by elected representatives in the alleged gang-rape of a Meetei woman as well.
Protest should also be launched condemning the gang-rape incident, he added.
