Chandel, August 12 2023:
Central Bureau of Communication, Field Office Chandel organized a one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on 'Mera Maati Mera Desh, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 9 Years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan' at Japhou Village in Chandel district today.
SDO/BDO, Chandel Naorem Pritam Singh who attended the function as Chief Guest led a public rally carried out to spread the message and meaning of the campaigns under Mera Maati Mera Desh, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 9 Years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.

Speaking as the chief guest, Pritam highlighted the significance of various central schemes launched under different names and their benefits.
He mentioned that the newly launched 'Mera Maati Mera Desh' campaign is of great importance as the world is facing the challenge of climate change and this campaign will definitely help in combating the change in climate and soil restoration.
He also spoke on various other schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi besides others.
DFO Chandel Pritam Kshetri who attended the function as Guest of Honour urged the citizens of the district and the State to take part in the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign to help tackle climate change and to make Chandel and Manipur a greener region.
Project Officer ZEO Chandel, SH Mosaingam also highlighted some of the significant features which the Central Government has brought about in the field of education.
He shared his insights on how the newly implemented National Education Policy should be followed in Chandel district so as student communities can get maximum benefit out of the policy.
Speaking as the resource person, Assistant Professor of DM College of Commerce, Dr K Onand spoke in length on the importance of observing and celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
He stated that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a festival of freedom and it is a campaign of the public and urged everyone to take part in the campaign.
Chief of Japhou village UPA W Hemashing expressed gratitude to all authorities concerned and the Central Government for launching various schemes and programmes which the residents of the district have benefited from.
A quiz competition was also held as a part of the function followed by a group discussion on various central schemes where participants shared their doubts and queries on different policies and programmes of the Government.
As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, Indian flags were also distributed to the residents of the village.
