The kid studying in Uchiwa (Aided) High School somehow managed to escape from the kidnappers.
The kid said that he and twin brother went for tuition class a little distance away from their home at around 6.30 pm on August 10 .
As one of them felt like defecating, he went back home while the other went ahead.
As the kid went for tuition class after defecation, he was pulled toward a white van using a hook by two unidentified men.
The kid shouted and struggled hard and thus he managed to escape from the suspected kidnappers and reached home.
The kid's shirt was also found torn after it was pierced by the suspected kidnappers' hook.
Taking strong exception to the incident, people, particularly womenfolk staged a protest demonstration at Uchiwa Awang Leikai.
Teachers and students of Uchiwa (Aided) High School also took part in the protest demonstration.
Strongly condemning the incident, local Meira Paibis urged the authorities concerned to pull up and punish the kidnappers as per law.
Earlier, there was an incident of kidnapping three children from Samurou Mayai Leikai, Imphal West district at around 1 pm of August 8 before they were abandoned on a road.
The three children were playing on a local ground when three unidentified men approached and asked them to identify a nearby house.
As the children went ahead to point out the house, the unidentified men followed them.
As the children walked past a van which was parked on the road, they were shoved from behind while some other men pulled them inside the van.
Immediately, the children were blind-folded and gagged.
After driving for around 7/8 minutes, one of the kidnappers received a phone call and he was told from the other end that there were many police personnel on the road ahead.
In the next moment, the van was brought to a halt and the children were allowed to get off near a ground.
Subsequent upon the incident, Mayang Imphal police carried out frisking and checking exercises at different points along Mayai Lambi yesterday and many vehicles driven by Meitei Pangals were pulled up as the ownership of these vehicles were not clear.
