Meetei Mayek coaching camp kicks off

A 10-day Meetei Mayek coaching camp kicked off today at Kha Manipur College multipurpose hall, Kaching today.
The Meetei Mayek coaching camp is being jointly organised by Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) and the Directorate of Language Planning Implementation, Government of Manipur to teach Meetei Mayek to displaced people who are currently taking refuge at various shelter camps.
MEELAL president Kh Ingocha; Senior Citizen Forum Kakching Secretary Ksh Kulahari and Peace Committee Kakching Vice-president Y Nilachandra graced the occasion as the presidium members among others.
Speaking at the occasion, MEELAL president Kh Ingocha emphasised on the importance of learning the indigenous script and maintained that it is of utmost importance to be aware of the history and culture of one's society.
Meanwhile, a statement from MEELAL informed that the annual Meetei Mayek competition which was deferred since May due to the communal strife in the State will be held in the first week of September.
Informing about its new provision of awarding prize to students of Class X for scoring high marks in Meetei Mayek, MEELAL appealed to the students to submit their marksheets to MEELAL Head Office or Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) .
Further it appealed to all concerned to collect MEELAL membership cards for the term 2023-2026 from its office.
