Imphal, September 19 2023:
Activist Keisham Pradipkumar has written to the state commissioner (Home) on Tuesday to safely bring back the 22 displaced Meetei people presently sheltering in the Assam Rifles camp at Moreh, to Imphal.
The letter stated that the 22 Meetei people at the AR camp in Moreh, as was published in a local daily, were previously displaced from Moreh and sought refuge in Myanmar for around three months before being brought back to the camp.
Recounting that many Meetei people have been previously brought to Imphal by security forces, he appealed to the state government and security forces to bring back the 22 people to Imphal safely as they are currently facing a lot of difficulties staying at the camp.
