RIMS, LINTOC appeal for exemption from bandh

RIMS hospital has appealed to Meira Paibi, local clubs and public to relax doctors, paramedical staffers and employees of the institute during the on-going 48-hour public bandh so as to enable them attend office and discharge essential service in public interest.
In a release, RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh expressed remorse that a nurse and an attendant while on their way to duty were halted and harassed by some protestors even after identifying themselves as staffers of RIMS hospital.
The media advisor further appealed to the public to acknowledge the service of RIMS and its staffers towards the people.
Similarly, Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Thouram Observation Committee, Manipur (LINTOC) has urged all concerned not to cause any restriction/disturbance in the observance of September 21, the day Lamyanba Irabot became a revolutionary.
In a release, LINTOC said that the committee has been organising the month-long observance of Lamyanba Irabot every year.
As a part of the observance, the committee will observe September 21, the day Irabot went underground, as there is pressing needs for the people to know why and for whom he turned rebel.
Highlighting the need for studying and discussing the ideas of Lamyanba Irabot so as to build a united and prosperous Manipur, the release said that LINTOC formed under the supervision of Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur has been observing the day for the last many years.
On the day of the observance, floral tributes will be paid to the statue of Lamyanba at Keibi Manaching and later a discussion programme will be held at Manipur University campus, it informed and urging all to take part in the observance.
Langthabal Kendra Clubs' Coordinating Committee (LKCCC) also urged all con-cernecLtp exempt essential services including medical and health department personnel, media, religious event, PHED and fire service from the purview of 48 hours bandh called for releasing the five village volunteers.
In a release, LKCCC exhorted the bandh supporters not to hinder movement of those in essential services.
It further appealed to all CSOs, clubs and organisations to work together and launch protest until the five village volunteers are released unconditionally.
