Free medical camp for IDPs concludes

A two-day free medical camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) sheltered at various relief camps in Kangpokpi town concluded on Wednesday.
The camp was organised by Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church (KIBC) in collaboration with Friends Missionary Prayer Band and District Hospital, Kangpokpi at the KIBC campus.
Hundreds of IDPs staying in various relief camps within Kangpokpi town were provided medicine by the Prayer Band.
Speaking on the sidelines of the camp, KIBC executive Seichon Haokip informed that in the ongoing ethnic clash many who had fled from far-flung villages and Imphal valley sheltered in relief camps have been suffering for past eight months.
He continued that in the relief camps, they are shortage of basic hygienic facilities and medicine causing them to suffer from various illnesses and diseases.
Seichon further stated that during such troubled times and in dire need of medicines, the Friends Missionary Prayer Band has contributed a huge quantity of medical supplies which helped them in conducting the medical camp for the IDPs.
He also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses from the DH, Kangpokpi and the hospital authority and other volunteers for success of the medical camp.
The church authority also informed of its plan to organise free medical camp in Saikul area as well.
