AR fetes Wushu medallists, hosts cricket match

Imphal, January 10 2024:
Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) felicitated Khelo India wushu competition medal winners of Manipur as well as participants at Sendra in Bishnupur district on Monday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the felicitation ceremony was organised to celebrate the victory and congratulate all the medal winners and participants who brought laurels for Manipur at the recently concluded Khelo India Games' held in Kokrajhar, Assam.
Assam Rifles had sponsored Wushu coaching camps to identify raw talent in the last few months and also distributed best training kits and safety accessories as a part of Assam Rifles civic action programme (ARCAP) to the players.
Manipur was adjudged overall second in the Wushu competition with a haul of four gold, seven silver and four bronze medals, the PRO informed.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised a friendly cricket match at Modi village in Chandel district on Monday.
Post-match, winners were felicitated with sports items, fostering a sense of accomplishment and sportsmanship, the PRO added.
