Chemically treated mosquito nets distributed

In a bid to promote the well-being of conflict victims taking refuge at relief centres, chemically treated mosquito nets were distributed at three relief camps in Kumbi AC today.
The initiative of distributing chemically treated mosquito nets is a collaborative effort of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Government of India and The New Leaf Association as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
With the support from various organizations and individuals in the State, IRCTC and The New Leaf Association have been providing relief materials to internally displaced people ever since the outbreak of the communal violence since May last year.

The distribution drive was held at Kumbi Terakha Sangit relief camp, Wangoo Higher Secondary School relief camp and Kumbi Awang High School relief camp in association with social activist, Sanjoy Ahanthem. Speaking in connection with today's drive, IRCTC North East Frontier Railways Chief, Penton Khetri said that the initiative has been taken up to protect the displaced people from various vector borne diseases. He also assured to continue taking up welfare activities for the displaced people in the State.
Social activist, Sanjoy Ahanthem who was present at the occasion, appealed to the Government to take up measures to resolve the ongoing communal crisis and for resettlement of the displaced people at the earliest.
