Imphal, June 20 2023:
A 30-member team of Communist Party of India-Ma-nipur State Council (CPI-MSC) left for Delhi on Tuesday to submit memorandum to the central leaders for finding solution to the restive situation in Manipur and to stage protests at important location in the national capital from June 23 to 26 .
The team led by CPI state secretary L Thoiren, assistant secretaries M Joykumar and N Singhajit, and executive member RK Amusana, will be submitting copies of the memorandum to the President of India, PMO, leaders of different political parties in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as well as to chief ministers of non-BJP states.
Speaking to newspersons at Sir Tikendrajit Airport on Tuesday, L Thoiren opined that a firm decision followed by a strict action on part of the government of India can restore normalcy* in Manipur.
As such, this trip to Delhi is of utmost importance.
Claiming that everyone is now aware about the covert agreements reached between Kuki militants and union home minister Amit Shah, BJP ex-general secretary Ram Mad-hav and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, he said the CPI-MSC team will urge the President to remove all three from their respective posts.
Thoiren also categorically stated that the violence is being prolonged due to the insincerity of both the central and state governments.
