Committee explains purpose of joint meeting

Peace Committee, Chandrakhong has urged the United Naga Council (UNC) and the public not to misinterpret or mis understand the public meeting conducted jointly by Federation of Haomee and the Committee under the banner "Know Your Identity" on June 10 .
In a release, Committee convenor Kh Modhu stated that the public meeting attended by members of various hills and valley villages including Chandrakhong,
Leirongthel, Malom, Nungbrang, Ningel, Kakmayai, Phanjakhong, Tangkhul Khullen, Shungriphai, Komlaching, Somrei, Irong Tangkhul, Horton, Shocharam, Jakhama and Khoiribok Khunbi adopted several resolutions including not to sale land to outsiders and collectively work to protect villages.
As the said meeting strived to uphold the age-old bond of fraternity between the Tangkhul and Meetei people settling in the area, the same should not be viewed as defying decision and standing directive of any organisation, it explained.
