KIMACS celebrates foundation day

Imphal, March 13 2024:
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS) on Wednesday celebrated its 21st foundation day at the auditorium of Government Dance College, Palace Compound, Imphal East district with Art and Culture deputy director Gurumayum Dharmadas Sharma as chief guest, and KIMACS president Ningthoujam Ajitkumar as president while Sanakonung 'lanching purel' Athokpam Ojendro, 'Angom Ningthou' Angom Poreiton and SSBDMC principal Sagolsem Ramkumar Singh were guests of honour.
According to Ajitkumar, KIMACS was formed with the aim to preserve and promote traditional art and culture of Manipur.
He also highlighted the role of traditional martial arts and culture in building the characters of youth and shaping the future of Manipur.
Expressing elation over the continuing trend of including Thang-Ta as co-curricular programme by schools across the state, he also informed that efforts are on for incorporating other art forms including traditional dance and songs as school curriculum.
