Essentials donated to relief camps, village volunteers

Indian Red Cross Manipur, State Branch on Wednesday distributed relief materials to relief camps set up at Lamboi Khongnangkhong Trade Centre and Government Dance College, Palace Compound where people displaced due to the conflict are staying.
Informing this in a release, IRCS Manipur said that the distribution of relief materials was attended by advisor Dr Rk Nimai, state chairman Narendra Ningomba, vice chairman Dr L Manglem and National Management Committee member Dr Sunil Senjam among others.
A one minute's silence was also observed as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in the present conflict.
The Red Cross, Manipur team visited the Lamboi Khongnangkhong camp and provided relief materials to 140 families displaced from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Kakching and other peripheral areas.
The same team also visited Government Dance College to provide relief materials to 25 families taking shelter in the camp.
The relief materials include hygienic kits, kitchen set, woollen blanket, mosquito net and others.
Meanwhile, Little Flower School Students' Transporters Union (LFSSTU) on Tuesday provided essential items to village volunteers of Phubala, Sunusiphai and Torbung who defending the villages from attacks by Kuki militants on Tuesday.
In a release, LFSSTU commended the sacrifices made by the village volunteers in defending Manipur.
