Governor graces International Hindi Conference

Governor Anusuiya Uikey graced the International Hindi Conference held in commemoration of the 115th birth anniversary of renowned poet Late Ramdhari Singh Dinkar today at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The conference was organized by Vishwa Hindi Parishad, New Delhi, said a press release from Raj Bhavan.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor spoke about the situation in Manipur, relief and rehabilitation works taken up for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and initiatives underway to restore normalcy in the State.
On the other hand, she said that Hindi is one of the oldest languages spoken by millions of people all over the world and is officially recognized by the United Nations.
The Governor lauded Vishwa Hindi Parishad for promoting the language.
Saying that Ramdhari Singh Dinkar is known as a 'National Poet' and had served as MP for two terms at Rajya Sabha, Anusiyua added that Ramdhari Singh was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award for the book 'Sanskriti Ke Char Adhyay' and Jnanpith Award for the poetry 'Urvashi' .
He was also given Padma Bhushan and a postage stamp was issued by the Government in his memory, she added.
