District level science seminars conducted

As part of the science seminar for school students in all districts, the seminar in respect of Chandel and Thoubal districts were conducted on Monday.
The seminars are being organised to inculcate scientific temper and analyti cal thinking in the minds of young students.
The selected students from the districts will participate in the state level science seminar, with the topper students to represent the state in the national level competition to be held in New Delhi.
The 43rd district level science seminar, 2023 on the topic "Millets - A super food or diet fad" was organised by the Science Unit of ZEO Chandel at Maha Union Higher Secondary School, Taphou with the opening function held with Chandel ZEO Y Hemchandra and Maha Union Higher Secondary School principal KL Warson as chief guest and president respectively, and DI of schools L Priyokumar Singh and PO ZEO Chandel KH Moshainga as guests of honour.
All together 50 students from different schools of Chandel district participated in the seminar.
Winner SP Tothahring, a class X student of Oak Hill Christian Academy, Panchai was selected for participating in the state level competition.
Concurrently, poster making, poetry writing, awareness programme and quiz competition on the theme "India on the Moon with Tiranga" were also organised by the Chandel Zonal Education Office at Taphou Upper Primary School.
The seminar for Thoubal district was held at Ch-aoyaima Higher Secondary School under the joint aegis of directorate of Education (S) Science Unit and Zonal Education Office Zone-III, Thoubal Science Unit.
The function was attended by School principal Moirangthem Muhindro, ZEO Zone-III Arambam Anilkumar and deputy inspector of schools N Rajen as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
The seminar was attended by 21 students from various schools of Thoubal district.
Akoijam Wanglen Angom of Bright Foundation, Thokchom Anjelina of Wisdom Foundation Khangabok and Bhavani Waikhom of Bright Foundation bagged the first, second and third prize respectively.
