Rescued wild animals released

Imphal, September 25 2023:
Nine animals rescued by People for Animals (PFA) Manipur from different places have been released after providing necessary medical care at the animal shelter of PFA.
A statement issued by PFA informed that the animals included one Bengal Slow Loris (yong ekaithibi) and two Bengal Monitor Lizard (Leikang hangkok), one Peacock Softshell Turtle (thenggu mit), three Monocled Cobra (Kharou), one Copper Headed Trinket (Tanglei wachet) and one Asian Leaf Turtle (thenggu Sempak) .

Members of PFA along with staff of Keibul Lamjao National Park under the supervision of the DFO released the Peacock Softshell Turtle to a safe habitat in the Park.
The remaining animals were released to wild at an undisclosed area under Langol Reserved Forest with the support of Central Forest Division Iroisemba and Lamdeng Beat Office staff.
The relocation programme was carried out with the assistance of the Wildlife Wing, State Forest Department.
