Chandel/Kakching/Thoubal, September 25 2023: The 43rd District/Zonal Level Science Seminar - 2023 on the topic 'Millets - a super food or a diet fad?' was held today in different districts.

It may be noted that science seminars are being organised in all districts in order to inculcate a scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students.

The selected students from the districts will be participating in the State level Students' Science Seminar and the top selected students will be participating in the National level competition to be held in the National capital later.

Chandel

The 43rd District/Zonal Level Science Seminar - 2023 for Chandel district was held today at Maha Union Higher Secondary School organised by the Science Unit, Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Chandel.

The seminar was graced by Y Hemchandra ZEO, Chandel; KL Warson, Principal, Maha Union Hr Sec School; L Priyokumar Singh, DI of schools, ZEO Chandel and Kh Moshaingam, PO ZEO, Chandel as the presidium members.

All together 50 students from different schools of Chandel District participated in today's seminar out of which SP Tothahring, a class X student of Oak Hill Christian Academy, Panchai, was selected for participating at the State level competition.

Concurrently, a poster making, poetry writing, an awareness program and a quiz competition on the theme, 'India on the Moon with Tiranga' was also organised by the Zonal Education Office, Chandel at the Japhou Upper Primary School today.

Kakching

For Kakching district, the Science Seminar was held at Practising Junior High School today organised by the Science Unit, ZEO Kakching.

A total of 17 students from six schools under ZEO Kakching participated in today's seminar.

Angela Khumukcham, a student of Padma Ratna English School Kakching was selected to represent Kakching district in the 43rd State Level Students' Science Seminar 2023 to be held at MSFDS hall, Palace Compound tomorrow organised by the Science Unit, Department of Education (S) .

Thoubal

The Science Unit, ZEO Zone-III Thoubal organised the Science Seminar at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School in the district.

The seminar was graced by Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School Principal, Moirangthem Muhindro; ZEO Zone - III Thoubal, Arambam Anilkumar and Deputy Inspector of Schools N Rajen as the presidium members.

A total of 21 students participated in the seminar where Akoijam Wanglen Angom of Bright Foundation; Thokchom Anjelina of Wisdom Foundation Khangabok and Bhavani Waikhom of Bright Foundation were declared as the winners of first, second and third positions respectively.
