Imphal, March 09 2024:
The Welfare Association for the Blind, Manipur, an apex body of individuals with vision impairments, has donated a sum of Rs 20,000 to village volunteers across the state.
The apex body rallied together to extend their support to village volunteers actively engaged in safeguarding the territorial boundaries and restoring peace in the strife-torn state.
The donation, exclusively raised by individuals with disabilities and supporters from diverse communities, underscores a powerful message of inclusivity and shared responsibility.
Expressing the essence of their initiative, the association highlighted three key objectives - to amplify awareness that persons with disabilities constitute an integral and inseparable segment of human diversity; to dispel misconceptions and affirm the active contributions of individuals with disabilities as vital members and citizens of society; and to demonstrate unwavering solidarity in the protection of Manipur's territorial integrity and the pursuit of peace and harmony.
