KVK Ccpur concludes training programmes

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Churachandpur on Saturday completed a series of Fishery Skill Development (SKD) Training Programmes which commenced from March 7 under sponsorship of ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, in collaboration with ATARI Zone VII, Umiam, Meghalaya held at the ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat.
A release by ICAR-KVK Churachandpur informed that the programme was formally closed by head of Regional Centre, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphepat Ramgopal Laha as chief guest, senior scientist-cum-head of KVK Bishnupur Kh Brajama-ni Meetei as guest of honour, senior scientist-cum-head KVK Churachandpur Manoj Kumar Pandey as functional president and chief technical officer (Fisheries) N Soranganba as course coordinator.
At the outset of the training programme which was attended by 78 trainees from 16 villages of Churachandpur, N Soranganba highlighted the importance of the training programme with a brief outline of the modules and different aspects of topics to be covered during different sessions.
He also expressed gratitude to ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai for sponsoring the training and ATARI Zone VII for all the support and collaboration.
KVK Bishnupur senior scientist-cum-head Kh Brajamani Meetei emphasised the role of the scientific method of farming in order to meet the demand and ensure sustenance of our fisher farmers, the release said.
It added that the programme was followed by input distribution where the trainees were provided with fish fingerlings, compounded fish feed, lime, and other inputs.
Chief guest of the programme Ramgopal Laha extended his warm welcome to the farmer participants and congratulated the organising committee for the successful completion of the training programme, it continued.
It mentioned that the inaugural programme ended with a vote of thanks from CTo (Soil Sciences) ICAR-KVK Churachandpur, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre L Somendro Singh.
