Imphal, March 09 2024:
Manipur State Legal Services Authority along with Imphal East District Legal Service Authority and Imphal West District Legal Service Authority organised a Lok Adalat at the Lamphel court complex, here, on Saturday.
Speaking in this regard, Manipur State Legal Services Authority member secretary Alek Muivah appealed to the people to take benefits of Lok Adalat by settling their pending cases without spending much time and money.
Pointing out that Lok Adalat is conducted at district court complexes across the country, he informed that 2,600 cases were listed in the National Lok Adalat held at Lamphel court complex on Saturday.
Settling the case does not exclusively mean the ruling given by judge in the court, he said, while adding that cases can also be settled during the Lok Adalat which does not consume much time and money.
If the case is pending in the court and court fees already paid, the fees can also be returned after settling the case in the Lok Adalat, he explained.
District Legal Services Authority Chandel under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) also organised another Lok Adalat at CJM Chandel complex on Saturday.
Judicial Magistrate First Class Moreh Fakhrul Islam Choudhary chaired the Lok Adalat and was assisted by APP Moreh advocate M Gairanlung, advocates RK Mohendro, Kh Jacky Lucy, and Keis-hang Kopham.
Hearing for Chandel was conducted physically and virtually for Tengnoupal district.
