MYFA lauds Assam Govt's decision to recognise Manipuri language as associate official language

Manipuri Youths Front of Assam (MYFA) honoured eminent leaders and individuals acknowledging their significant contributions in the movement to actualise the demand to include Manipuri language as the associate official language of Assam.
MYFA honoured the individuals by presenting simple gifts during a programme held at BR Ambedkar Hall in Silchar.
It may be noted that the Assam Cabinet in a significant move, approved to recognise Manipuri language as the associate official language in Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi and Hojai districts of Assam by ammending the Assam Official Language Act, 1960 on February 23, 2024 .
MYFA lauded the Assam Government's decision and expressed belief that the move will help in enhancing the status of Manipuris in Assam.
Today's programme was graced by K Shanti ACS; K Bidyabati, president Maharaj Gambhir Singh Memorial Committee Chandrapur, Cachar; Beni Mishra AMMPAL president; Burhan Uddin KYC chief advisor; Jubeda Begum president Pangal Meira Paibi; social activist N Budhachandra Singh; Ahmed Chaudhury chief advisor Assam Manipuri Muslim Youth Front and L Champalal president National Highway Manipuri Development Association among others as the presidium members.
During the programme, eminent speakers deliberated on the need to make concerted efforts for the upliftment of Manipuri language and the relevant measures which can be taken up for the cause.
