Poshan Pakhwada 2024 launched in Senapati

The Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS launched the Poshan Pakhwada 2024 today at DC Office Complex, Senapati.
The programme was jointly organised by the Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS), Senapati and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC said that Anganwadi workers should take utmost care while sensitizing and delivering nutritional food to the community in their respective areas.
She also said that inspection will be carried out across the Anganwadi centres in the district to check the activities.
The DC also highlighted the activities to be carried out during the campaign.
It may be mentioned that Poshan Pakhwada 2024 which was launched today will continue till March 23.The focus of mass sensitization and community activities would be based on the main themes namely Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB) - towards better Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE); Tribal, traditional, regional and local dietary practices focused on sensitization around nutrition and health of pregnant women and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
It will also includes additional sensitization activities around other important areas such as Improving nutrition through Mission LiFE (with activities around water conservation through Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) at AWCs); Adopting sustainable food systems by promoting millets and Poshan Vatikas and adopting healthy lifestyles through Ayush practices; focused activities on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) and Diarrhoea management; Test, Treat, Talk Anaemia; Swasth Balak Spardha (SBS) to promote regular growth measurement of enrolled children at AWCs and a variety of other general sensitization activities that the States/UTs and partnered Ministries/ Departments have been conducting since the inception of Poshan Abhiyaan.
Later a Poshan walk was carried out from the DC Office complex, Senapati till "I Love Senapati" point raising slogans such as 'Health is Wealth,' 'Eat Healthy Food, Stay Healthy' etc., and used placards which read as 'Eat Right to Live Right,' 'Eat Good Feel Good,' 'No Junk Food,' 'Get the habit of healthy eating,' etc.
The programme was participated by District Level Officers (DLOs), ICDS office staff, student volunteers and Anganwadi workers.
