MAYOL's Long March reaches Basikhong

The 'Lamsang Khongchat' of Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) carrying the message of 'A New Era for Manipuri Society' has reached Basikhong in Imphal East district on the 13th day on Monday.
On the 14th day, Tuesday, medical check up of the participants was carried out at Basikhong.
The march, which was flagged off on December 20 from Kangla Utra Shanglen, began its journey for the 13th day on Monday from Lamlong High Secondary School with Coordinating Body Khurai vice-chairman Ngairangbam Jadumani flagging off the march.
A public meeting was held at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak with Impact TV editor in-chief Yumnam Rupachandra and retired sessions judge Aribam Noutuneshwari as the main speakers.
Another public meeting was held at Basikhong Panthoibi Club ground after passing through Atom Leirak and Khongman.
Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and Naharolgi Thoudang editor Khoirom Loya spoke as main speakers at the meeting.
Before reaching Basikhong, street corner meetings were held at Khongman Zone-5 and Okram Chuthek, in which MAYOL convenor Asem Prince spoke on the key objective of the long march.
Large number of people participated in the march shouting slogans like 'Let us unite for tomorrow , We will no longer face devastation , 'Long Live Meetei Pokpi Ima'.
Meanwhile, MAYOL expressed gratitude to the supporters for their encouragement and support.
On the 15th day, the march will reach Mayang Imphal after passing through Kyamgei, Lilong Chajing, Lilong Haoreibi, Samurou and Yumnam Huidrom.
