Imphal, January 02 2024:
The JAC formed against the killing of village volunteer Ningombam James submitted a memorandum to the chief minister demanding dismantling of bunkers of Kuki militants and special package for his family.
Interacting with the media after submitting the memorandum, convenor Y Imocha said that the JAC is demanding the government to remove bunkers of Kuki militants, special package to support the family of James, abrogate the SoO agreement with Kuki militants, and immediate actions to flush out Kuki militants and to restore peace in the state.
The CM assured the JAC to do the needful while conveying the measures taken up by the government.
Following the assurance, the JAC would soon organise a public meeting to decide whether or not to claim the mortal remains of James.
Earlier, the JAC called for a general strike on Tuesday decrying the persistent attack by Kuki militants.
