Stolen vehicle recovered, three arrested

In a series of swift actions, Manipur Police successfully apprehended three suspects involved in recent criminal activities, including vehicle theft and abduction, and rescued an abducted person.
According to a press release issued by Police Common Control Room, unknown miscreants snatched a Toyota Fortuner from an area in Imphal West district on February 29.However, law enforcement's diligent efforts culminated in the recovery of the stolen vehicle on Saturday.
Subsequently, on Sunday, Manipur Police arrested three individuals allegedly linked to the incident, identified as Yumnam Angousana (26), Maibam Sanajaoba (26) of Imphal West, and Irom James (22) of Imphal East.
Moreover, on Saturday, Kisth Sarunao (55) of Nongdam Tangkhul, was abducted along with his vehicle from Imphal East by unidentified perpetrators.
The police promptly launched search operations, resulting in the safe rescue of Sarunao and the recovery of his vehicle from Napetpalli area.
In connection with the abduction case, police arrested one Lukram Bikram alias Kuthan (40) of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai.
He was subsequently remanded in police custody by the Duty Magistrate to facilitate further investigation.
In a separate incident on Sunday, police apprehended Anup Kamakar (30) son of the late Kala Kamakar, a resident of Ulubari, Assam, for the possession of 11.379 kg of Ganja.
A case has been registered, and authorities are conducting further investigations into the matter, the release informed.
