Imphal, October 12 2010:
The all Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) has found yet another incident of drunken orgy among the Manipuri students studying in Maharaja Sayajirao University in Varoda, Gujarat.
Secretary, Social Welfare, AMADA HQs and Bobo Meitei revealed in a press release today that Manipuri students (boys and girls) studying in Maharaja Sayajirao University had organised a Fresher's Meet on October 9 .
On investigation, AMADA has found that the students, instead of organising the freshers' meet at the University itself, organised the function at a place called Presidential Hotel about one hour's bus ride from the University.
The programme started at about 7 pm and continued till 5 am next morning.
Manipuri boys and girls numbering between 150 and 200 participated in the programme, AMADA said.
During the programme, the young Manipuri students indulged in a drunken orgy.
Most of the students consumed liquor, beer and other intoxicating substances, and danced together and stayed the night together.
AMADA has found that the incident really did that place.
Incriminating photographs of the students having indulged in druken orgy and other obscene acts would soon reach the hands of AMADA.
The names of the main organisers of the programme and also those boys and girls who took part in the orgy are in the hands of AMADA now.
Those students are informed to contact AMADA and have an understanding session with it soon so that they would not repeat their mistakes again in future, N Bobo Meitei informed.
If they fail to have an understanding session with AMADA, their names and the obscene photographs would be released to the electronic and print media for wide publication.
The AMADA also appealed to the parents and guradians whose children are studying outside Manipur not to leave them in complete freedom thinking that they would become qualified persons after studies, instead they should be looked after very carefully so that they would not go astray.
Otherwise, when the students return home they might bring HIV/AIDS or other diseases with them and the parents may become disappointed.
Such situation would only pave the way for Manipur society to become extinct, Bobo said.
