Imphal, October 01 2023:
Langban Chara Tamba ritual to pay homage to martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the 4 months 29 days old crisis (152 days) was held at Ibudhou Koiroulakpa Laibung at Koirou, Imphal East.
At the ritual ceremony organised by the Ibudhou Koiroulakpa Thougal Lup, people paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
While members of Arambai Tengol paid their respect to the martyrs, the people observed silence in the honour of the departed souls.
Thawai Mirel Women Wing convenor Th Sujata, social activist Ashang Kasar and MU HoD of Law Dr Yumnam Premananda spoke about the current Manipur crisis at the ceremony.

Thawai Mirel Women Wing convenor Th Sujata claimed that the Centre and the State Government are not seen putting in sincere efforts so far to end the nearly 5 months old crisis.
She said the youths had volunteered to defend their villages themselves due to the lack of sincerity and conviction on the part of the Government to face the threats promptly.
The double engine Government (Centre and State) has ignored the plight of the people and many memoranda that have been submitted to it.
Instead of addressing the people's demand, security forces have fired tear gas shells and bullets on protesters, she said.
While security forces didn't use force against people who had stormed restricted area to oppose CM N Biren's resignation, unarmed students in uniform who were protesting murder of two fellow students were assaulted brutally on the streets.
Many students have been injured in the brutal crackdowns.
Why was extreme force used against students? She asked.
She also asked where have the people who had protested against CM's resignation gone now.
Sujata said while the Prime Minister had spoken out against the parading of two Kuki women nude, he has not spoken a word on the gang-rape of a Meitei woman and the murder of two young students.
She said the PM had spoken out against the parading of two Kuki women nude by a mob and it had shamed the Meitei community.
The two Kuki women, on the other hand, were saved by the Meitei women, and the people (Meiteis) had condemned the incident in the strongest terms.
The Meiteis caught 21 culprits who had paraded the two women.
It may be noted that the video of two Kuki women parading nude by a mob had angered the Meiteis, and irate locals had burnt down the houses of some of the culprits.
Social activist Ashang Kasar said the issues of narco-terrorism and illegal immigrants are not new and these have been here since the last one or two decades.
People came to know of the impacts only recently.
It is the fault of the elected leaders for their lack of far-sightedness has created this present turmoil, said Ashang Kasar.
He stressed that the people at present should take calculated steps to avoid driving the mass movement in the wrong direction and prevent a more severe turmoil.
Ashang said Manipur belongs to the indigenous people and every step must be taken carefully not to drive wedge and provoke enmity between the indigenous communities.
Manipur University's Head of Department of Law, Dr Y Premananda said the armed Chin-Kukis are carrying out "genocide" against the Meiteis.
While 10 Kuki MLAs [who have openly demanded separate administration] deserved to be expelled, no action has been taken against them so far, he said.
"There is also a probability that instead of the 10 MLAs being expelled, they may expel the 50 MLAs.
Two of the Ministers are learned to be working their offices online," he said.
