Imphal, October 01 2023:
In connection with its 2nd Raising Day observed on October 1, chairman of the armed Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) Toijam Achou has sent out a message, saying that Kangleipak/Manipur is not the land for a single community but for all indigenous communities since time immemorial.
According to Toijam Achou, Kangleipak/Manipur is a land where hills and plain dwellers meet and co-exist together with harmony since time immemorial but indigenous economy, administration and religious practices have vanished due to prolonged occupation by India.
While stressing the need to learn lessons from history particularly on how the princes of Kangleipak/Manipur brought unity among the people and fought together against the invading Awa (Burmese) and ended the Seven Years of Devastation (1819-1826), the chairman said that the community which loves and remembers history will be able to save their motherland.
It is impossible for the community having no history to save their motherland, he said and maintained that people of Kangleipak/Manipur are living in the land created by history.
Expressing serious concern over immigrants occupying and claiming ownership of land belonging to indigenous people and the threat they posed to indigenous people of WESEA region, the SOREPA chairman said that a nation cannot be a gift from anyone but built on the supreme sacrifices made by the people and blood they shed for the causes of the nation.
It is impossible to a build a nation on the foundation of fabricated history even if people shed blood and sacrifice their lives.
This fact must be clearly understood by leaders who have been misleading Khongjai community for an imagined Kuki-Chin-Zo nation, Toijam Achou said, adding that it would be better for Khongjai leaders to retract their steps of building Kuki-Chin-Zo nation in absence of any historical foundation.
According to Toijam Achou, the ongoing 'Khongjai war' in Kangleipak/Manipur has become a serious contradiction to the liberation struggles in WESEA region and it should be tackled by people of the region collectively.
He also said that illegal immigrants are conspiring to suppress the liberation movement of Kangleipak/Manipur with financial support of Indian military and accordingly it is time for Khongjai people to wake to this sinister ploy.
The SOREPA chairman further said India's state-sponsored terrorism has been manifested in ethnic conflict among people of WESEA region but no lesson has been learnt from the Naga-Kuki crisis, Khasi-Garo crisis, Meetei-Meetei-Pangal, Kuki-Paite or Kuki-Dimasa crisis.
He maintained that narrow nationalism and ethnic nationalism are all India's strategies aimed at creating and fomenting disunity among the people of WESEA.
According to Toijam Achou, women are always at the forefront of all the democratic movements aimed at protecting the socio-political and economic interests of Kangleipak/Manipur.
Beginning from Nupi Lal of 1904, the people of Kangleipak/Manipur particularly women have always been instrumental in ensuring people oriented administrative setup.
This is the main reason behind the attempt being made by some people of a particular community to malign the image of Meira Paibis of Kangleipak/ Manipur in Delhi, the SOREPA chairman said.
Mothers or Meira Paibis of Kangleipak/Manipur could very well see utilisation of illegal immigrants/narco-terrorists by Indian military particularly the Assam Rifles in waging a proxy war in Kangleipak/Manipur, Toijam Achou asserted, while adding that the stoic silence maintained by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah to the pain, trauma, turmoil and continuing killing in Kangleipak/Manipur is clear testimony that they support foreign mercenaries and narco-terrorists.
While observing that success of a revolution cannot be left to the revolutionaries alone and all the people need to join hands to make it successful, the SOREPA chairman said that people of Kangleipak/Manipur are showing the right direction to revolutionaries while fighting a proxy war waged by illegal immigrants with the alleged support of Indian military.
