13th State Powerlifting Championships underway, PBBPTC take huge lead

The 13th edition of the State Level Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Master Men and Women Powerlifting Championships kicked off today at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai under the aegis of the All Manipur Powerlifting Association at PBBPTC gym.
PBBPTC, Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai amassed as many as 10 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals on the opening day as Laikon Upper Primary School (LUPS) Kongba Nandeibam Leikai, Uchekon bagged 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.
Mountain Gym (MG), Khoyathong also recorded a gold and a silver medal today.
In the 53 kg sub-junior boys competition, Yuhenba Longjam of PBBPTC recorded a total lift of 285 kg (90kg in squad, 80kg in bench press and 115 kg deadlift) to win the gold.
Oinam Devakanta of LUPS bagged the silver medal in this competition with 175 kg finish (60+40+75) while his compatriot Langpoklakpam Lelin finished third with 140 kg finish (50+30+60) .
Irikhomba Elangbam of PBBPTC notched up the 53 kg junior boys' gold lifting 100 kg in squad, 50 kg in bench press and 115 kg in deadlift to amass 265 kg as his compatriot Ningthoujam Niraj bagged silver with 195 kg finish (55+40+100) .
In the 59 kg sub-junior boys competition, Gaibithui Malangmei of PBBPTC won the gold by lifting a total of 355 kg as compatriot Lumthangam Kamei sealed the silver with 310 kg finish (110+65+135) .
In the 59 kg junior boys competition, Thokchom Bidyabusan of PBBPTC registered a total lift of 432.5 kg (170 in squad, 102.5 in bench press and 160 in deadlift) to win the gold.
Ricky Khangembam of MG finished second with 325 kg (110+75+140) to earn the silver as Ningthoujam Rahul of PBBPTC registered 220 kg (70+50+100) for the bronze medal.
Keiyenpaibam Velena of PBBPTC earned the 43 kg sub-junior girls gold medal recording 70 kg in squad, 42.5 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift for a total of 202.5 kg while N Henary of LUPS managed 105 kg for the silver medal.
Ranisana Waikhom of LUPs won the sub-junior girls' 47 kg category gold with a 115 kg finish (30+20+65) while Princy Khumujam gathered 170 kg (70 kg squad + 20 kg bench press and 80 kg in deadlift) to win the 52 kg category gold.
Leishanthem Ophellia of LUPS clinched the 57 kg sub-junior girls' gold with a 115 kg finish as Seram Sneha of PBBPTC bagged the silver with a 105 kg finish.
Irungbam Shilvia Maryline of MG sealed the senior women's 57 kg category gold with a 217.5 kg finish as Tongbram Anita Devi of PBBPTC sealed the silver with a 135 kg finish.
Ngangranabi Thokchom of PBBPTC won the Masters Women I 52 kg category gold with a 30 kg lift in squad, 32.5 kg in bench press and 72.5 kg in deadlift.
Athokpam Rosy Chanu of PBBPTC (80+35+85= 200 kg) claimed the 57 kg Masters I title as M Memtombi of PBBPTC (20+20+40=80 kg) and Soraisham Ibetombi of PBBPTC (35+20+50=105 kg) won the masters-3 57 kg category gold and Masters-3 52 kg category gold medals.
