Sayol Foundation on Sunday extended a sum of Rs 50,000 to village volunteer Loitongbam Naoba of Kanto Khullen Awang Leikai, who suffered bullet injuries incapacitating his right hand.
In a release, Sayol Foundation informed that Naoba is taking care of his family as construction labourers by sieving sand using his left hand and right leg, while his wife is also suffering due to lump in her womb.
According to doctor, the injured hand has high chance of turning into cancer.
As he has to undertake treatment at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune Naoba will be in need of generous donation to meet the expenditure, the Foundation added.
Meanwhile, Regional Indigenous Forum for Peaceful Coexistence (RIFPC0) Manipur led by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam president Ngangbam Joykumar donated a sum of Rs 25,000 to JNIMS Relief Committee to aid treatment of people affected by the conflict.
JNIMS staff nurse Brojesori extended a sum of Rs 2000, BJP Manipur Pradesh OBC Morcha donated Rs 30,000 and Wangoi A/C ex MLA Oinam Lukhoi donated Rs 5,000 to the relief committee, while CMO Imphal East Dr Indira and Dr Hemanta of Khurai Thangjam Leikai provided medicines.
Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch distributed essential materials to the relief camps set up at Chingmeirong Upper Primary School and Heingang Kangjeibung community hall.
Under Manipur Crisis Relief Project of LCIF India Grant, Lions Club District 322D provided essential items to the relief camps set up at old mini secretariat complex near Loukoipat, Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong, Phubala High School and Moirang College.
MECI School class XI student Adelika Pos Phijam also donated sanitary pad and edibles to student inmates of Moirang Santhong Awang leikai relief Camp.
