Many protest, condemn cold blooded murder of innocent students

Various organisations, civil bodies and groups continue to protest and condemn the abduction, merciless torture and cold-blooded murder of two innocent students, Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi who went missing on July 6 last.
Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Kanglup and Ayangleima Women Welfare Association today staged a sit-in protest against the gruesome killing of two innocent teenagers at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the sit-in, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Kanglup president Sorokhaibam Sashi shared that since the conflict began on May 3 last, Kuki terrorist on the pretext of demanding Separate Administration have continued to rain havoc in the State, burning down houses and killing many innocent Meitei civilians.

Denouncing the abduction and brutal murder of the two students, she urged the Government to expedite the investigation and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators.
She also condemned the excessive use of force by Security Forces against the students who were protesting the murder of their fellow students and demanded the Government to take strong action against all the high-headed and wayward security personnel involved.
Demanding justice for Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi, sin-in protests were also staged at Yumnam Patlou by United Women's Voluntary Association Yumnam Patlou; Moirangkhom by Joint Committee Yaiskul, Moirangkhom; Langthabal Mantrikhong Awang Leikai Community Hall by Langthabal Kendra Meira Paibi Co-ordinating Committee; Kakwa Asem Leikai Community Hall by Kakwa Asem Leikai Meira Paibi and Kakwa Sorokkhaibam Leikai Meira Paibi; Langthabal Lep Awang Leikai; Kakwa Naorem Leikai; Kakwa Keithel; Singjamei Keithel; Chingamakha; Haobam Marak; Uripok Tourangbam Leikai and Thangmeiband.
Similar sit-ins were also staged by Apunba Meira Paibi Lup of Takyel Khongbal Lane 5, Lamdeng Makha Leikai, Awang Leikai, Mayai Leikai; Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club, Patsoi Part 1, 2 Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Langjing Achouba Maning Leikai.
Meanwhile, Chingmeirong Apunba Lup, Lamyanba Irawat Memorial Integrated Trust (LIMIT) and NLANL have also vehemently condemned the murder of two students and the brutality shown towards the students protesting the tragic murder by security forces.
They also demanded the Government to arrest the culprits involved in the murder at the earliest and award befitting punishment as per the law.
