Court body seeks evidences on incompetent SFs

High Court Bar Associ-ation (l-ICBM Manipur has ap-pealed to the public to submit photographs, videos or docu-ments showing dereliction of duty by personnel of security forces, or failure to take actions against armed militants attack-ing civilians, to the HCBA or All Manipur Bar Association.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur HighCourt complex here onSunday HCBA president Nimolchandra said that such evidences are needed in order to seek legaladvisory from the Su-preme Court.
One can also file a complaint against such incidents to a nearby police station, he said.
Regarding the payment of ex-gratia, he urged authority concerned to provide the fi-nancial assistance after prop-er verification of identities of the victims.
No such ex-gratia should be given to non-citi-zens or foreigners, the president stressed.
He also emphasised on the need for speeding up border fencing in order to curb illegal immigration through the po-rous Indo-Myanmarborder.
The inability of the government to open NH2 and provide safe pas-sage to commuters and tram-porters is a serious drawback on the part of the government, he said and stressed the need for immediate measures in this regard.
Nimolchandra also said that national highway is not a private property where anybody can impose blockade.
He further demanded the government to strictly enforce the ground rule of So0 agree-ment and to launch crackdown on non-So� militants in or-der to protect public lives and properties.
