Many continue to extend humanitarian assistance to the people who have been affected by the ongoing conflict in the State.
Members of Joint Action Co-ordination Committee (JACC), apex body of Clubs & Meira Paibis of Lairikyengbam Leikai, Laipham Khunou, Kairang & Kontha Ahallup, today visited the volunteers who are camping in Kanglatongbi Bazar, Imphal West District to defend the area and provided relief materials.
In a release, JACC informed that the relief materials including drinking water, vegetables and medical equipment were handed over to the volunteers, Meira Paibis and Youth Club.
A team of Human Rights Defender Manipur (HRDM) also provided essential items to the village volunteers at Senjam Chirang on July 9 .
In a release, HRDM informed that the team included Joy Chingakham (president), Kenny Khwairakpam (joint secretary), Satish Nongmeikakpam (executive member), Naorem Dinesh (secretary public in-charge.) and 15 volunteers.
The Fraternity of Lions Clubs International under 322D today donated an
amount of Rs 44,000 to the relief camp set up in Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong.
The team of Lions Clubs led by Lions Clubs of Imphal, Immediate Past District Governor, Dr W Gopimohan included District 322D, Vice District Gover-nor-I, Th Kesho; Past District Governor, H Manikumar; cabinet members of the district and other prominent members of Lions Clubs, said a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal.
Besides, Sidaba Ningthem Pukhri Mapal Singlup has extended a monetary aid of Rs 5000 each to the families of the nine victims of Khamenlok attack carried out by Kuki militants.
The Singlup also donated an amount of Rs 30,000 to the relief camp set up in Thanga Chingkha Leikai said a release.
To help the people displaced by the present unrest The Women Co-operative Weaving Society Limited Paona Bazar Masajid Road has provided essential items to the relief camp set up in Lamjao Makha Leikai by Lamjao Yaibi Youth Association.
The Society also distributed essential items at the relief camps opened by Lotus Club Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai, Arica Club and Thanga Chingkha Meira Paibi Lup, said a release.
Meanwhile, JIANA Helping Hand Group, Porompat, has provided " 11 Mon" of paddy seeds (Tampha Phou) to Chanung Village Development Committee.
