Imphal, July 09 2023:
Reaffirming its stand to protect the territorial integrity of the State, Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has asserted that not an inch of Manipur's land will be given away to outsiders.
Addressing a press conference today at MMWO office in Minuthong Hafiz Hatta, Boboi Korimayum stated that Meitei Pangals have always stood for Manipur's integrity and will continue to defend the State in the future from outsiders.
Alleging that the Central Forces have done nothing to deter the Kuki militants from attacking innocent civilians, he urged the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to clarify his reasons for deploying Central Forces just for show without giving them any teeth to tackle the militants.
He also appealed to the Government to provide adequate security cover to vehicles carrying essential commodities on the National Highways to prevent extortion by armed miscreants.
"Prices of essential commodities will be reduced only when the National Highways become extortion free", he added.
Boboi further urged the Government to consider the difficulties faced by students & digital businesses in Manipur and ease the ban imposed on internet service.
