COCOMI lifts boycott on state government

Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCMI) has lifted its stand of boycotting the government of Manipur with immediate effect.
Announcing this during a press conference on Wednesday, coordinator Jitendra Ningomba said that COCOMI announced the boycott on government of Manipur as per a decision taken collectively by the committee and the people on August 6.Later, a Leaders' Meet held at MU centenary hall discussed the worsening situation in the state and adopted several resolutions, including revocation of the boycott imposed on the Government of Manipur.
All the resolutions taken by the leaders in the meet were discussed again during another session attended by intellectuals, social activists and panellists at Manipur Press Club on October 16 wherein most of the leaders recommended revoking the boycott.
In another public meet held at Brahmapur community hall near Loklaobung bridge on December 9, leaders adopted several resolutions and also suggested withdrawal of the boycott imposed by CO-COMI.
In the meantime, the Government of Manipur invited COCOMI for discussing about National Register of Citizens (NRC), resettlement of people displaced by the ongoing conflict and resolving the conflict.
In view of this development, COCOMI decided to lift the boycott imposed on the Government of Manipur, Jitendra elaborated, while urging the public to extend support to the committee in its endeavour to resolve
the conflict.
