Vision of late Sanajaoba hailed

The Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University Professor N Rajmuhon has called for widespread dissemination of late Professor Naorem Sanajaoba's ideas of peaceful co-existence among ethnic communities in the North East and Manipur through academic means.
The DM University VC made the remark at the 14th death anniversary observance ceremony of Professor Sanajaoba held at the Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Complex, Lairikyengbam Leikai Imphal East today organised by the Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) .
The ceremony was graced by family members of the late Professor, members of OSMT and locals of the area.
The gathering also paid floral tributes to the portrait of Ojha Sanajaoba.
On the occasion, Professor Rajmuhon shared to media persons that Professor Sanajaoba, former Dean of Gauhati University, was a human rights defender since the early 1960s and an active campaigner against racism, fascism, casteism and colonialism of all forms which cause oppression of human beings.
Professor Naorem Sanajaoba spread the idea of regional peace for global tranquility and produced academic works that have become a source to abate the conflict of ideas and identity politics prevalent in the North Eastern region in general and Manipur in particular, added N Rajmuhon, who is also the president of OSMT.
Furthermore, Ojha Sanajaoba also diagnosed various social ailments such as degrading political status, maltreated political economy, identity crisis, ethnic contradictions etc and formulated workable solutions to most of the problems in the North Eastern region, said the DM University VC.
He lauded the late Professor as a rare visionary of Manipur who believed in mutual development and co-existence of all ethnic communities and advocated for the rights of these communities.
