Imphal, November 28 2010:
After the government teachers, SO grade IV employees of engineering departments under the Manipur government come up with their complaint of still pending revised sixth pay bands.
Mention may be made that government teachers under the banner of the Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) are on ceased works strike since November 15 demanding payment of sixth pay bands which government had already agreed to pay.
Section Officers of engineering departments under the banner of the Manipur Engineering Departments Section Officers' Co-ordination Committee today pressed the state government for in toto implementation of the agreed revised Central sixth pay bands.
Addressing at a press conference convener of the association, RK Brajabihari said that the para no.14 of the revised pay clarification of the state government has severely affected to the status of the section officers and their pay scale.
The anomaly in it is not a kind of fair treatment towards the employees of this grade.
He said that even though the pay scales for the SO under ROP 1999 was Rs 5000-8000, the second amendment to the revised pay structure of the government 2006 has reduced the lower scale at Rs 4,500.This is in total contrast with the Central revised pay structures.
In response to their complaint in this regard, government has given assurances that it will be re-looked and takes up the necessary rectification by September last.
But it is yet to be translated into action, he lamented and drew the attention of the government for early action.
